What this site is

Timelines is an archive of the stories of people with a public life —athletes, musicians, scientists, politicians— told year by year. Every fact carries the source it comes from: a Wikipedia article at a specific revision, a Wikidata statement, a press article or a public record.

It is read without an account, without signing up and without paying. There is no advertising. The panel my.timelines.profblu.com is used only by the team that writes the archive.

Terms of use

• You may read, quote and link to any page of the archive.
• Text quoted from Wikipedia remains under its licence, CC BY-SA 4.0, and Wikidata data under CC0. Every image and video keeps its author's licence, shown in its caption. You may reuse them under those licences and no others: the details are in Credits, licences and takedown.
• The selection, the ordering, our own writing, the design and the code of the archive are ours. You may not copy them to build another product.
• You may not use the site in a way that overloads it or prevents others from reading it, nor try to enter the panel without an authorised account.

Intellectual and industrial property

Timelines is built with open-source software; its licences are respected and their notices are in each component's repository where the licence requires it.

The people, the media and the sources are not ours

• Timelines has no relationship, agreement or affiliation with the people whose story it tells, nor with their clubs, labels, parties or institutions, nor with the media it quotes, nor with the Wikimedia Foundation.
• The names of people, teams, competitions, media and brands that appear belong to their owners and are used to identify what is being discussed.
• How we process the data of the people in the archive and how they can object is in Information for the people in the archive.

Accuracy

• Every fact is linked to its source so that you can check it. If the source is wrong, the error may be here too.
• When two sources disagree —a date, a figure— we do not pick one by hand: we say so on the page.
• If you spot an error, write to us. The procedure is in Credits, licences and takedown.
